Nanny Tip of the Week

Encouraging New Foods:

Creat a "New Food Chart" and each week try out three new foods, could be fruit, veggies, main dish, etc. If your charges will take two bites of the new food, they get a sticker to put on their chart.

Submitted by Donna Robinson. "At 4 & 2 they still love stickers and when I was there we tried things like Star fruit and other exotic ones as we were about to take a trip to a tropical place. Each week, they'd ask, what's the new foods this week?"

Submit your Nanny Tip to Deborah@4nanny.com.

I am wondering how you all deal with keeping their room clean etc? Are they able to trash it, or does it have to be cleaned daily etc. Do you do it or does the child. Thanks!

Kate Moss We are not...

So there is a little running joke between me and the oldest, Kidlet #1. When he started driving with me last fall for driver’s education, he would park very close to the stone wall in the driveway. I would say “Hey , I am not Kate Moss!” He looked puzzled and then I explained that Kate Moss was a super skinny model, to read more go to my blog at http://www.nannyadventures.com/kidlet-1/kate-moss-we-are-not/

Bathtime

One of the little mysteries of life. How do we get wetter during bathtime than the child who is bathing?

That moment

Yesterday I went to pick up one of my boys from school. He saw me from across the cafeteria, his face lit up, he ran across and gave me a hug saying, "I missed you so much". This is why I do the work I do. Moments like this.

Nanny Island

My first post on Nanny Island. Whoever thought of this is a genius. Finally! A social networking site for nannies! I generally became a nanny because I love being a "big brother". It was the most rewarding part of the job. I've worked with all ages but I've been the most sucessful with elementary school aged boys for that reason. Right now I am working for three different families. Sometimes the schedule overlaps and I share, but they really all need me at different times. I'll write more as… Continue

A little about myself.....

My name is nicole, i'm 24 years old. I have a big passion for working with kids, my dream has always been to open up my own daycare or just to continue working with kids. My parents, friends and family kept telling me that i wasn't going to find a good job that paid good and would give me insurance at the same time while working with kids. I first became a nanny about two years ago when I found a nanny job in the paper needing a part time live out nanny. Just to start out it was far more then a… Continue
